Do you have a trained voice, your own recording studio and impressive references? Or do you produce commercials, compose music and develop the right sound for brands? Then you need clients who are looking for precisely those skills – and who pay professional rates for your work.
Audiobird brings specialist audio professionals and clients together. Showcase your services with a free profile, get discovered through the artist search and the Audiobird Agent, and manage projects directly on the platform. From the first follow-up question to delivering your production.
There is no fee for your profile or for receiving enquiries. For a completed project, Audiobird retains 10 per cent commission. You receive 90 per cent of the agreed net fee.
A platform for professional voice artists and audio specialists
Audiobird focuses on a curated selection. Creating a profile therefore does not mean it will be published automatically: we check which artists meet our quality standards.
For voice artists, a compelling vocal performance and their own recording studio are particularly important. Clients should be able to expect a high-quality voice recording – both in its interpretation and its technical execution.
Demonstrable skills and meaningful work samples are also central for audio producers and other audio artists. Specialists who can showcase their work on Audiobird include:
Voice artists for advertising, corporate films, voice-over, e-learning and other voice productions.
Audio producers for commercials, podcasts and complete audio productions.
Composers and music producers for advertising music and bespoke compositions.
Sound designers and mixing experts for sound design and mixing.
Dubbing and voice-over specialists for the spoken-language production of audiovisual content.
Approval on Audiobird means joining a select group of professional artists. Your profile gives you the opportunity to showcase your experience and your own commitment to quality in this environment.
A free artist profile: show clients why they should book you
Your profile should quickly communicate what you do particularly well. Audio samples, photos, descriptions and categories help you do this.
What matters is how these elements work together. Anyone who reads your description and then plays an audio sample should find the same clear positioning reflected in both.
Audio samples that demonstrate your skills
Choose examples that showcase your main areas of work. As a commercial voice artist, for instance, you can demonstrate different delivery styles. As a composer, present selected work that reveals your musical signature and your understanding of brand communication.
For complex productions, a brief explanation helps: did you compose, mix, create the sound design or handle the entire production? This allows clients to assess your contribution accurately.
Descriptions that get specific
“Professional, flexible and versatile” says little about why someone should book you in particular. Instead, name your specialisms and the tasks you have experience in.
For example:
“I deliver calm, credible voice-overs for corporate films and products that need explaining. Recordings are made in my own studio.”
Or:
“I produce radio commercials with a focus on voice direction, music and the final mix – from working with existing individual recordings to handling the complete production.”
Descriptions like these make it easier to decide whether your services suit a project.
Clear expertise rather than the longest possible list of services
Audiobird looks for specialists with a distinctive profile. You are welcome to offer multiple services. What matters, however, is that your core skills are clear and supported by work samples.
Ask yourself: For which task should a client choose me specifically? The answer belongs at the heart of your profile.
Find suitable projects – through the search and the Audiobird Agent
Clients can still discover artists through the standard search. In addition, the Audiobird Agent helps them find suitable voices and audio professionals for a specific project.
For example, one client might explain that they are looking for an assured voice for a corporate film. Another needs a complete commercial production with music and sound design. The Agent helps refine these requirements and suggest suitable artists.
For you, this means: the more clearly your skills, audio samples and service details align, the easier it is to match your offering to a specific need.
Budget information can also be taken into account during selection. That is why it is worth keeping the designated pricing information up to date, alongside showcasing your creative strengths.
Audiobird thus opens up an additional route to suitable project enquiries. Whether an enquiry turns into a commission depends on the project, your proposal and your discussions with the client.
Calculate fees and set your own prices
A professional service needs a transparent pricing basis. Audiobird offers budget calculators for voice services and productions. Voice fee calculations are primarily based on the German VDS rate card. Billing on Audiobird is in euros.
This guidance helps clients and artists discuss realistic budgets. You then agree your specific quote to suit the project.
Individual voice rates in the Professional category
As a voice artist, you can set your own prices for individual service areas in the Professional category. This is useful, for example, if you have a bespoke pricing structure for certain types of work.
These details can be taken into account in budget-based recommendations. This makes it clear which projects your services suit financially too – for instance, productions with a strictly limited budget.
Day rates and skills for audio producers
For audio producers, the focus is on day rates and the skills offered. The actual scope is discussed as part of the project: mixing existing tracks requires a different level of work from a complete production including concept development, composition and sound design.
Before accepting a commission, clarify in particular:
Which services and files are required?
What is the intended usage?
How many versions and rounds of revisions does the quote include?
Which deadlines must be met?
This creates a quote that accurately describes your work and gives the client a clear basis for making a decision.
Reach international clients – with translated profiles and chats
A good profile should also be understandable to potential clients who do not speak German. Audiobird uses AI to translate your profile content automatically into several languages.
This makes it easier for international clients to learn about your services. Your specialisms and experience become accessible beyond the German-speaking market too.
The support does not stop at your profile: messages in the project chat can also be translated using AI.
If you receive an enquiry in French, for example, you can read it in German and reply in German. Audiobird then translates your reply into French. This allows you to discuss requirements, follow-up questions and organisational details across languages.
Nevertheless, state precisely in your profile which languages you personally speak or produce in professionally. A translated profile makes communication easier; it does not automatically expand the production languages you offer.
From first contact to approval: manage projects directly on Audiobird
A commission involves more than the recording or production itself. Follow-up questions, quotes, payment and file sharing are part of it too. Audiobird brings these steps together in the project chat.
1. Receive an enquiry and clarify requirements
Receiving an enquiry is free. In the chat, you can talk to the potential client, ask follow-up questions, clarify the budget and agree the scope of services.
Use this stage to make expectations specific. The clearer the brief, the more precisely you can focus your production.
2. Send a payment request
Once you have reached an agreement with the client, send a payment request directly in the chat. To do this, enter the agreed net amount. The client can then make the payment through Audiobird.
3. Begin production after the client has paid
The intended process is: the client pays first, then you begin production.
This means the agreed amount has already been paid through the platform before you create your recording, composition or mix. This gives you a better basis for planning than requesting payment only after delivery.
It is important to distinguish between the two stages: the client's payment before production begins is not yet the payout to you. That takes place after approval.
4. Deliver the production in the project chat
You provide the finished audio files through Audiobird in the chat. There, you can discuss feedback and coordinate agreed revisions. Communication and delivery thus remain within the context of the relevant project.
5. Receive approval and have your fee paid out
After client approval, your artist share is paid out. Audiobird retains 10 per cent commission; you receive 90 per cent of the agreed net fee.
For example, with a net fee of 1,000 euros, the commission is 100 euros and your share is 900 euros.
